The CEIBA Foundation

A charity gala helps fund a pilot agroforestry project in Castries.

A gala in support of ecological transition

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the CEIBA Foundation held its fourth gala dinner, an event that has become essential for supporting committed projects in the region.
Thanks to the generosity of its donors and partners, the event raised €126,000, intended to fund an ambitious agroforestry project on the Arches Castriotes site, near the Château de Castries (Hérault).

A pilot project in the heart of Mediterranean nature

Led by the Racines de France association, this initiative aims to transform a former wine estate into a living, productive and educational agroforestry ecosystem.
The site, marked by the presence of the 17th-century royal aqueduct, extends over more than 5 hectares.

Restoring a living ecosystem

From the first phases of the project:

  • over 1,000 trees have been planted;
  • nearly 800 meters of riparian forest have been restored;
  • resilient crops have been introduced (feijoas, pomegranates, almonds, rosemary…).

The funds raised at the gala will amplify these actions: enriching plant biodiversity, landscape developments, educational trails on water management, reforestation and sustainable agriculture.

A committed and unifying evening

Organized in the heart of a remarkable natural setting, this fourth gala brought together sponsoring companies, public actors, institutional partners and field stakeholders. A committed network, some of whom have supported the Foundation since its beginnings.

This project is part of the continuity of field actions carried out by the CEIBA Foundation.

  • protective measures;
  • interventions by landscape and scientific experts.

Presentation of the book “Nature in the City”

A highlight of the 2025 edition, the Foundation unveiled its first collective work: Nature in the City. Bringing together contributions from Jean Mus, Jean-Paul Viguier, Bruno Ricci, Léo Marguerit, Yann Fortunato and Foundation members, this book offers an inspiring and concrete vision of urban planning where nature shapes the future of territories.

Based on real examples of developments integrating biodiversity, the book highlights the environmental, social and economic benefits of nature in the city.
Available on the CEIBA Foundation website, all sales proceeds are donated to the endowment fund.
