Nîmes: Socri Reim acquires the Coupole des Halles
Socri Reim announces the acquisition of the La Coupole shopping center, a deal that had been dragging on for a long time.
The Montpellier-based company Socri Reim, already owner of Polygone in Béziers since 2013, and the commercial spaces rented to Monoprix and Maisons du Monde at Polygone Montpellier since 2019, officially announces having acquired the La Coupole commercial complex in Nîmes.
Crédit Agricole is the financial partner for this acquisition which took a long time to complete (the City of Nîmes had indeed announced it more than a year ago). La Coupole was inaugurated in 1992 and totals a surface area of nearly 15,000 square meters. Socri Reim announces its objective to make it “the benchmark shopping center of the city center and thus support the commercial revival of the heart of the city alongside the municipality.” Group President Nicolas Chambon states: “This is a natural and obvious acquisition for Socri Reim which continues its policy of revitalizing city centers. We will bring our recognized expertise in the design, development, and commercialization of exceptional sites.”
With the number of empty premises having increased significantly, the challenge of reviving La Coupole is indeed considerable.
